These Terms and Conditions (“Terms”) apply to your use of the For Friends website and mobile application (together: the “Platform”). The Platform is operated by For Friends B.V., a company incorporated under Dutch law, with its registered office at [address], registered with the Dutch Chamber of Commerce under number [KvK number] (“For Friends”, “we”, “us”, “our”).
By accessing or using the Platform, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please stop using the Platform. If you are under 16, you may not use the Platform.
At a Glance
Free to use - For Friends is free. We do not charge for access and do not process payments.
You own your content - You keep ownership of everything you post. We only use it to run and improve the App.
No ads - We do not sell advertising. Your content and data are not used for ad targeting.
Be respectful - You agree to use the App lawfully and respectfully. Harmful or illegal content is not allowed.
Your account - You are responsible for your account. Keep your login details secure.
Dutch law applies - These Terms are governed by Dutch law. Disputes go to the courts of the Netherlands.
1. About Us
For Friends B.V. is incorporated under Dutch law and operates the For Friends Platform — a social discovery app for finding and sharing restaurants, places to stay, and things to do with friends.

2. Scope of These Terms
These Terms apply to:
browsing and using the For Friends website
creating and using an account in the mobile application
interacting with content, features, and recommendations on the Platform
Separate terms may apply if you book services or make reservations with third parties accessible via the Platform. We are not a party to those agreements.
3. Eligibility
You must be at least 16 years old to use the Platform. By using the Platform, you confirm that you meet this requirement. If we become aware that a user is under 16, we will close their account and remove associated data.
If you use the Platform on behalf of a business or organisation, you confirm that you have the authority to bind that entity to these Terms.
4. Account Registration
Some features require you to create an account. When registering, you agree to:
provide accurate, complete, and up-to-date information
keep your login credentials confidential and not share them with others
notify us promptly at info@forfriends.app if you suspect unauthorised access to your account
You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account. We are not liable for losses resulting from unauthorised account access where you have not kept your credentials secure.
You may not create multiple accounts, impersonate another person, or register an account in someone else’s name without their consent.
5. Acceptable Use
5.1 What you agree to do
You agree to use the Platform:
in compliance with applicable laws and regulations, including Dutch and EU law
in a respectful and lawful manner towards other users
only for personal, non-commercial purposes, unless separately agreed with us in writing
5.2 What you must not do
You must not:
post content that is unlawful, harmful, defamatory, discriminatory, harassing, or offensive
share content that infringes the intellectual property rights of others
use the Platform to spam, phish, or engage in any deceptive practices
attempt to access systems, data, or accounts you are not authorised to access
scrape, crawl, copy, or reverse-engineer any part of the Platform
use automated tools or bots to access or interact with the Platform
impersonate another person or entity, or misrepresent your affiliation with any person or organisation
post content involving minors in a sexualised or inappropriate context
use the Platform to coordinate or promote illegal activities
5.3 Consequences of misuse
We may, at our discretion, remove content, issue warnings, restrict features, or suspend or permanently terminate your account if you violate these Terms or applicable laws. We will generally attempt to notify you unless doing so would undermine the reason for the action (for example, in cases of fraud or illegal activity).
You may appeal a moderation decision by contacting info@forfriends.app.
6. Content and Recommendations
The Platform may display:
content created and shared by other users
personalised feeds and recommendations based on your preferences, connections, and location
curated content, location-based suggestions, and editorial picks
Content on the Platform is provided for informational and inspirational purposes. We do not guarantee that any recommendation, review, or listing is accurate, complete, current, or suitable for your specific needs. Always use your own judgement before visiting a place or making a reservation.
We are not responsible for the accuracy of user-generated reviews or third-party listings.
7. User-Generated Content
7.1 Ownership
You retain ownership of all content you post, upload, or share on the Platform (“User Content”). We do not claim ownership of your content.
7.2 Licence you grant us
By posting User Content, you grant For Friends a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide licence to host, store, display, reproduce, and distribute your content solely for the purposes of operating, improving, and promoting the Platform. This licence ends when you delete the content or close your account (subject to reasonable backup and technical processing periods, as described in our Privacy Policy).
We will never use your content in advertising or sell it to third parties.
7.3 Your warranties
By posting User Content, you confirm that:
you own or have the necessary rights to share that content
the content does not infringe any third-party intellectual property rights, privacy rights, or other legal rights
the content complies with these Terms and applicable law
You are solely responsible for any consequences arising from content you post.
7.4 Content removal
We may remove User Content that violates these Terms, our community guidelines, or applicable law. Where possible, we will notify you of the removal and the reason. If you believe content has been removed in error, contact us at info@forfriends.app.
7.5 Feedback and suggestions
If you provide feedback, ideas, or suggestions about the Platform, you agree that we may use these without obligation to compensate you, and that such feedback does not create any confidentiality obligation on our part.
8. Intellectual Property
All intellectual property rights in the Platform — including the software, design, text, graphics, logos, and branding — belong to For Friends B.V. or our licensors.
We grant you a limited, personal, non-transferable, revocable licence to use the Platform for its intended purpose in accordance with these Terms. You may not:
copy, reproduce, or distribute any part of the Platform or its content without prior written permission
use our trademarks, logos, or branding without our consent
create derivative works based on the Platform or its content
Nothing in these Terms transfers any intellectual property rights to you.
9. Third-Party Services and Links
The Platform may include:
links to third-party websites and services
integrations such as Google Sign-In
tools that allow you to view or interact with third-party services (e.g. restaurant booking platforms)
We are not responsible for the availability, content, terms, or privacy practices of third-party services. Any agreement you enter into with a third party is solely between you and that party. We encourage you to read the terms and privacy policies of any third-party service you use.
10. No Payments via the Platform
The Platform is currently provided free of charge. We do not process in-app purchases or payments.
If you choose to make a booking or purchase through a third-party provider accessible via the Platform, that provider’s payment terms and conditions apply. We are not involved in and accept no liability for such transactions.
11. Availability and Changes
We aim to keep the Platform available and reliable, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted, error-free, or secure operation. The Platform may be temporarily unavailable due to maintenance, updates, or factors outside our control.
We may, at any time:
modify, update, or remove features or functionality
suspend or discontinue parts of the Platform
update these Terms
We will communicate material changes via the Platform or by email. Continued use after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms. If you do not accept the changes, you may stop using the Platform and delete your account.
12. Termination
12.1 By us
We may suspend or terminate your access to the Platform if you:
violate these Terms or our community guidelines
engage in conduct that is harmful to other users, third parties, or For Friends
are required to be removed by applicable law
In cases of serious violations (e.g. illegal content, fraud), we may act immediately without prior notice.
12.2 By you
You may stop using the Platform and delete your account at any time through the App settings. Sections of these Terms that by their nature should survive termination (including intellectual property, liability, and governing law) will continue to apply.
13. Liability
To the extent permitted by Dutch and EU law:
the Platform is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind
we are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Platform
we are not liable for the accuracy or reliability of user-generated content or third-party information on the Platform
our total liability for direct damages is limited to damages directly caused by our gross negligence or wilful misconduct
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability that cannot be excluded or limited under applicable law, including consumer protection rights under Dutch and EU law. As a consumer, you may have rights that these Terms cannot override.
14. Community Guidelines
In addition to these Terms, your use of the Platform is subject to our Community Guidelines, which set out in more detail the standards we expect for content and behaviour on the Platform. Our Community Guidelines are available in the App and form part of these Terms.
15. Privacy
The processing of your personal data is governed by our:
App Privacy Policy — which applies to your use of the For Friends mobile application
Website Privacy Policy — which applies to your use of the For Friends website
We encourage you to read our Privacy Policy carefully before using the Platform.
16. Governing Law and Disputes
These Terms are governed by Dutch law.
If a dispute arises between you and For Friends, we encourage you to contact us first at info@forfriends.app so we can try to resolve the matter informally. We will respond within 14 days.
If a dispute cannot be resolved informally, it shall be submitted to the competent court in the Netherlands. If you are a consumer resident in the EU, you may also use the European Commission’s Online Dispute Resolution (ODR) platform at ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr.
17. General Provisions
If any provision of these Terms is found to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue in full force and effect.
Our failure to enforce any right or provision of these Terms does not constitute a waiver of that right or provision.
These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy and Community Guidelines, constitute the entire agreement between you and For Friends regarding your use of the Platform.
